This painting was done from a series of sketches worked on after a photo of William Kienbusch rowing on the Penobscott Bay. Hurricane Island was one of Kienbusch’s favorite islands and he spent many summers visiting and photographing Hurricane. EPO BID was the name of his rowboat.
